  7. When that Fails by Ben Lambright

    Squirrel yourself away in his

tackle box, become a fly whipped

    across the water, skip lightly

on the surface, push yourself out

as ripples until you fade in

    the dense silt.

    When that fails,

    cover yourself in report cards,

    lay bare underneath them, paste

gold stars over your eyes, eat

all the bad letters, scratch off

    anti, from social, not, from

    When that fails,

    move into a burned

    out mobile home, fall

    through the floor, seal

    off the rooms

    not capable of supporting

    the weight of a man.

    Watch the whole structure

    leave everything you

    in the shell.

    When that fails

  10. We have a blog!

Hello all and welcome to the Art Reach of Mid Michigan blog!

We’ll be using our blog to share events at Art Reach, photos, poetry, music and all things art that we love, like the Wellspring Literary Series that kicked off it’s third season at Art Reach Monday.

A packed audience filled the Art Reach Center for the goosebumps-giving music from Joe Hertler, poetry by the currently apple-obsessed Ben Lambright and the powerful, raw poetry of Francine J. Harris. Max & Emily’s stuffed the crowd’s stomachs with their delicious sandwiches and, as always, Dr. Robert Fanning hosted the event.

Look for poetry and music from Monday in our coming posts and don’t forget to follow us!
